I Shall Not Be Moved!

April 27, 2020: hephzibahgarden

I have set the Lord always before me: because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved. Psalms‬ ‭16:8‬

This verse has been taken from a Psalm by David, which bears the headline – Michtam (Contemplation) of David! A closer study into the life of David reveals that right from his childhood days, David had a fairly good amount of understanding about the God of Israel! He knew his God!

For example: On one occasion, as he was tending to his father’s flock, a lion and a bear came right against him and the sheep and took away a lamb from among them! He was only a young boy at that time. David confesses — And I went out after him, and smote him, and delivered it out of his mouth: and when he arose against me, I caught him by his beard, and smote him, and slew him. 1 Samuel‬ ‭17:35‬.

He acknowledged that the Lord helped rescue him out of the paw of the lion — The Lord that delivered me out of the paw of the lion, and out of the paw of the bear, he will deliver me out of the hand of this Philistine. And Saul said unto David, Go, and the Lord be with thee. 1 Samuel‬ ‭17:37‬. He continued growing in this understanding and went on to become the king of Israel.

THUS HE SET THE LORD ALWAYS BEFORE HIM!!

Moving on he says – because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved.

The Right Hand signifies Power, Indispensability, Authority and Strength. After Jesus rose up again from the dead, He ascended the heavens and is now seated at the right hand of the Father. David once again admits that because the Lord is at his right hand, no matter what may come against him or whoever may go against him; nothing can separate him from the love he has for God — Nothing would be able to move him! Let’s experience this for ourselves through the lockdown days! May the Lord help us! ❤️
